Backed by a sponsorship from Walter Scherr ’49, Wrap for a Cause will wrap one of the Pace University buses that travels between the Pleasantville and Manhattan (New York) campuses, creating a memorable mobile billboard campaign that:
- Raises awareness and funds to support veteran education programs at Pace University
- Provides financial support to the 82nd Airborne Division Association

Walter’s Way
Walter Scherr is a career businessman who was also an Associate Professor at Farmingdale State School and PhD candidate at NYU. He received his bachelor’s degree from Pace College attending night school, and his master’s degree from Hofstra University over the course of 15 years. He overcame many obstacles through persistence, honor and commitment. He is a devoted family man, and an active philanthropist. One hundred percent of the proceeds from sales of his book Walter’s Way goes toward The Center for Discovery, a provider of health, education and residential services for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.

82nd Airborne Division Association
Through his Wrap for a Cause sponsorship, Walter is supporting both Pace University’s veterans programs as well as the 82nd Airborne Division Association. The Association was organized in England, prior to the Normandy invasion (1944) and its members include those who have served with the 11th, 13th, 17th, 82nd, 101st Airborne Divisions; 187th, 503rd, 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Teams; 173rd Airborne Brigade (Separate) as well as troopers from Special Forces, Airborne Rangers, Marine Corps Recon, Navy SEALS and Air Force Special Tactics personnel.
